Key takeaways
- Paris taxis apply fixed flat fares to Roissy-CDG and Orly, published by Service Public.
- A VTC sets its own price: a fixed fare given at booking, or a calculation after the ride.
- A written firm quote before confirmation makes comparing the two options straightforward.
Taxi flat fares between Paris and the airports, October 2026
According to the Service Public page consulted at the date of writing (October 2026) and verified on 13 August 2026, taxi flat fares for a direct trip in either direction are as follows: Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle and Paris right bank, 56 euros; Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle and Paris left bank, 65 euros; Orly and Paris right bank, 45 euros; Orly and Paris left bank, 36 euros.
The page specifies that no supplement or extra charge may be added to an airport flat fare. Rates take effect every year on 1 February, with taxis given two months to update their meter. These amounts therefore change: check them on the official page before quoting or budgeting them, and remember that the French version of the page is the reference text.

Right bank, left bank: reading the fare correctly
The flat fare depends on the airport and on which bank of the Seine your Paris address is on. The gap is noticeable: at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle, the left bank costs more than the right bank, whereas at Orly it is the other way round, according to the page. For a specific address, it is worth checking which side of the river it lies on.
These flat fares apply to direct trips between the airport and Paris. An intermediate stop, a destination outside the zone or waiting time fall under other rules that the page does not detail. To prepare an arrival or departure, you can complement these points with our guides on chauffeur service at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle and chauffeur service at Orly.

A VTC is not bound by these flat fares
Airport flat fares are a rule for the taxi profession. Service Public states that for a VTC, prices are free: the operator may announce a fixed fare at booking, or calculate an amount after the ride according to time and distance. There is therefore no single official tariff against which a quote can be mechanically compared.
This freedom has a counterpart: it is up to the client to ask for the price before confirming. We give no ride prices here, because figures vary by operator, period and demand. To understand the other differences between the two professions, read our article on the difference between a taxi and a VTC.

A prestige chauffeur in Paris?
Describe your journey: firm quote before confirmation.
Request a chauffeur quoteWhy a prestige VTC gives a firm quote
A prestige chauffeur serves travellers, often with an assistant, for whom predictability matters as much as the route. A firm quote, sent before confirmation, fixes the price of the agreed service and avoids discovering an amount on arrival. IKIGAI Limousine works this way, without publishing a price here.
The quote comes with elements specific to the service: flight tracking, a named greeting, and a vehicle chosen for the number of travellers and bags. Comparing with a taxi flat fare is therefore not only about price: it is also about what the service includes, which you should ask each provider to spell out. Our guide on what a private chauffeur costs explains this logic.

Comparing properly: the assistant's checklist
To compare a taxi flat fare and a VTC quote fairly, compare the same service. Note the exact address and terminal, the number of passengers and suitcases, the flight arrival time and the terms in case of delay, as well as company invoicing. A written quote makes these points visible and lets an assistant keep a clear record for the traveller and for the finance team.
Once the service is defined, booking ahead simplifies the day itself. Our airport transfers page explains how we organise these journeys, and our contact form lets you describe yours to us, including terminal, timing and number of passengers. Finally, all our guides are gathered in the VTC section of the Journal. This information is general: always check amounts on service-public.fr.
